The Sony XLR-H2 XLR Handle Unit for FX5 expands the professional audio capabilities of the Sony FX5 Cinema Camera by adding high-quality XLR inputs, advanced recording formats, and improved camera handling. Designed for filmmakers, documentarians, and broadcast professionals, this multifunction handle provides a streamlined solution for capturing pristine audio directly in-camera.

The XLR-H2 connects to the FX5 through Sony's Multi-Interface Shoe, creating a cable-free digital audio interface that simplifies setup while maintaining exceptional sound quality. It supports professional 96 kHz sampling and 32-bit float recording, preserving a wide dynamic range and minimizing the risk of clipped audio. The unit can also generate separate WAV files that are stored directly on the camera, helping to speed up post-production and editing workflows.

Equipped with two combo XLR/TRS inputs, a dedicated 3.5mm microphone input, dual analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), and four-channel audio input, the XLR-H2 accommodates a wide variety of microphones and audio sources. Convenient physical switches and control dials are positioned along the side of the handle, with protective covers to help prevent accidental adjustments during recording.

Beyond its audio capabilities, the ergonomic handle improves camera operation during handheld shooting and features four 1/4"-20 mounting threads for attaching accessories such as monitors, wireless receivers, or articulating arms.
