The Atomos Sumo PRO-19 4K HDR Monitor-Recorder-Switcher is a professional production display designed for advanced on-set monitoring, recording, and live switching workflows. Featuring a large 19" HDR screen with accurate color reproduction and high brightness, it allows cinematographers and production crews to fully evaluate footage while capturing the extended dynamic range of modern cinema cameras shooting in log or raw formats.

Built for both production and post-production environments, the Sumo PRO-19 supports 4K recording and multicamera workflows with the ability to simultaneously monitor, switch, and record multiple video inputs. Its integrated switcher functionality streamlines live production setups, making it well suited for broadcast, studio, live event, and cinema applications where accurate HDR monitoring and flexible recording capabilities are essential.

On-Set 4K Monitoring

Get HDR on set in real time with on-the-fly log to HDR and PQ (Perceptual Quantizer)/HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) playback, complete with mission-critical monitoring tools such as waveform, focus peaking, EL Zone false color, RGB parade, vectorscope, and more on the calibrated screen. Beyond monitoring, with 8K, 6K, 4K, UHD, 2K, and 1080p raw recording, you can generate instant dailies to readily available SSD media.

1st AC Monitor

The large 19" panel gives focus pullers access to a high-quality HD image with focus assist tools such as peaking and 2:1/1:1 zoom. The robust aluminum and plastic chassis ensures that this monitor can be moved and reset for every shot during production.

Studio Monitor

In the studio, you can leverage the HDR capabilities of the Sumo PRO-19 for accurate monitoring. With a 10-stop dynamic range and 10-bit processing combined with Calibrite Display Pro or Display Plus calibration, you can be sure that your color-corrected images will translate through the post-production pipeline.

Features

Live Quad Switching and 5-Channel Recording

AtomOS provides SDI quad switching and ISO recording, which allows you to record and switch up to four ISO channels in resolutions up to 8K30, as well as record the program.

Network Connectivity

The Sumo PRO-19 features a Gigabit Ethernet connector and Wi-Fi 6E that supports NDI|HX3 for monitoring high-quality, low-latency NDI streams. It also supports AirGlu wireless timecode via Bluetooth and RF to keep sync with all your cameras on set. The monitor is also compatible with the separately available Atomos TX transmission system to wirelessly transmit video from cameras.

3D LUT Support

Sumo PRO-19 can receive a LOG signal from a camera and apply a real-time LUT (Look-Up Table) preview that approximates what the final graded image will look like in Rec. 709. Custom LUTs (.cube files) can be loaded from a CFexpress card or external USB-C storage and used in conjunction with built-in monitoring tools for precise exposure control.

Versatile I/O Options

Seamlessly connect an SDI or HDMI device and convert between HDMI 2.0 and SDI (Quad 3G/6G/12G) in any combination. 3G-SDI and 12G-SDI inputs connect sources without the need for converters or four separate video inputs for multiview display or ISO recording. HDMI 2.0 supports up to 8K input and output, along with the very latest Atomos open protocol, which supports HDR automation, including the importing of camera settings. There is also support for Genlock and LTC via BNC.

Industry-Standard Codecs

Capture 8K raw and high bit rate codecs such as ProRes RAW/RAW HQ, 10-bit Apple ProRes, H.265, or DNxHR, thanks to ultrafast write speeds designed for sustained performance.

High-Quality Recording

CFexpress Type B media is compact and durable, and the unit features rapid offload speeds, so your footage moves into post or the cloud without slowing down your pipeline.

You can also capture to external USB‑C storage.

Camera Control

Controlling cameras remotely is valuable when the camera is difficult to access during shooting, especially when on remote riggings. The Sumo PRO-19 offers touchscreen control of key camera functions, including start/stop, ISO, shutter, aperture, and white balance, as well as touch to focus for supported cameras. Control is available for most Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Panasonic, and Sony mirrorless cameras.

Built-In XLR Audio

Eliminate the need for a separate audio recorder by using the full-size XLR connections to connect and power external microphones, for balanced analog audio with dedicated meters and adjustments for frame delay and gain.

Cloud Compatibility

The Sumo PRO-19 can utilize Ethernet or Wi-Fi to enhance your workflow via camera-to-cloud services, including Atomos ATOMOSphere, Adobe Frame.io, and Dropbox (with separately available service plans).

Production-Grade Build Quality

The durable aluminum chassis houses multiple 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting points around the top, bottom, and side, a rear panel 100 x 100 VESA mount, and an included stand for a variety of mounting configurations.

Customizable Front Buttons

Get instant access to up to six frequently-used features, such as exposure, framing and monitoring tools, playback modes, LUTs, or anamorphic desqueeze, at the touch of a button with the programmable feature buttons on the front of the monitor.

Calibration

Like many high-end video monitors, the Sumo PRO-19 can be calibrated to compensate for the natural color and brightness drift that monitors exhibit over time.

The Sumo's calibration input lets you use Calibrite Display Pro or Display Plus (Windows/macOS) with the separately available Atomos LANC cable (ATOMCAB018).

Daylight-Viewable LCD Screen

The bright 1200 cd/m² display lets you accurately monitor HDR or SD video signals, even when outside in full daylight. If additional light control is required, an optional sun hood is available separately.

Power

The 4-pin XLR input provides power to the monitor using the included power supply. In the field, separately available V-mount or Gold mount plates can be used to mount up to two batteries using the additional 4-pin XLR inputs, providing ample redundant power.
