Designed to cover Super 35mm-format sensors, this high-speed zoom provides filmmakers with flexible framing and dependable low-light performance for narrative, commercial, documentary, and other demanding production environments.
The lens maintains its T2 maximum aperture throughout the entire 18-35mm zoom range, eliminating aperture ramping as focal length changes. A 9-blade iris produces rounded out-of-focus highlights and natural-looking bokeh, giving cinematographers additional creative control over depth of field and subject separation.
Built around professional cinema operation, the focus barrel provides a generous 180° rotation from close focus to infinity, allowing for precise focus adjustments and repeatable pulls. The zoom barrel offers 160° of rotation, while the clickless iris ring features 60° of rotation for smooth exposure adjustments. The focus scale on this version is clearly marked in feet for familiar on-set operation.
Focus, zoom, and iris rings are equipped with industry-standard 0.8 MOD cine gears, making the lens ready for integration with follow-focus systems, lens motors, and other professional accessories. Gear positions are shared with the other lens in Sigma's High-Speed Zoom lineup, helping streamline lens changes without requiring extensive repositioning of accessories.
A 95mm front diameter supports integration with compatible matte boxes and production accessories. For additional stability when building out a cinema rig, the lens also features a removable 1/4"-20 support foot, which can be paired with a separately available rod-mounted lens support. Dustproof and Splashproof Design
Sharing the same dustproof and splashproof construction as the SIGMA 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM｜Sports, each ring and mount is sealed to prevent water and dust from entering.

Lens Markings
The main lens markings are in luminous paint for easy visibility in low light situations. The intermediate markings are laser-engraved for durability. The focus and zoom markings are readable from either side of the lens.
Lens Front
The lens features a 95mm front diameter for compatibility with a wide variety of matte boxes and incorporates an 82mm front filter thread.
Lens Gears
All three lens gears are standard 0.8 Mod and feature a damper that eliminates metallic sounds when you reach the end of the lens travel.
