The Steadicam Fawcett Exovest with Large Socket Block & Soft Bag is engineered to transfer the weight and torque of your Steadicam system to areas of the body that won’t restrict natural movement. Its semi-rigid exoskeletal design connects to the arm via a right-side socket block and features ergonomically placed pads that shift primary weight to the pelvis and distribute torque through the upper back. This pad system helps protect sensitive areas—such as the neck, shoulders, spine, and abdomen—by reducing compression and improving comfort during extended use.

Built without chest straps, the Exovest allows unrestricted breathing and fluid arm movement. Rigid sliding components, secured with double and triple purchase straps, enable quick on-the-fly fine-tuning of weight distribution. By extending the lever arm from the mid-back to the upper shoulder, the outer structure cuts the counterbalancing force required for a Steadicam rig in half. Between takes, the integrated over-center lever lets the vest relax for comfort. The Exovest comes complete with a padded soft bag for convenient storage and transport.
