The CR-X300 sports many features of a Canon camcorder such as a 1/2.3" dual-pixel CMOS sensor, Hybrid AF, the Canon DIG!C DV6 image processor, scene modes, IR (infrared) mode, 20x optical zoom, 20x digital zoom, built-in waterproof microphone, and video capture and output up to UHD 4K. The camera also includes NDI|HX support without requiring a separate license, allowing you to drop the camera into your existing NDI network with minimal configuration.
Where the PTZ camera diverges from the camcorders is in its remote resources such as control via IP and RS-422 serial as well as HDMI, 6G-SDI, and IP streaming outputs, and compatibility with the Canon RC-IP100 IP PTZ remote controller. It can perform smooth, precision pan, tilt, and zoom movements with a speed range of 0.3 to 60° per second.
The camera can also be powered using PoE++ (Power-over-Ethernet) using its LAN port, so it can fit right into your existing PoE+ network without requiring the use of local power to save cabling. The CR-X300 is equipped with "Hybrid AF". Hybrid AF is an autofocus system that combines high-precision contrast AF technology and the high-speed phase-difference AF technology to confirm auto focus from the camera. This hybrid autofocus system achieves auto focus faster and more reliably compared to contrast auto focus alone. The CR-X300 features Face Detection and Tracking functions which detects faces and automatically adjusts focus when a human is detected within the frame.
Full HD image quality from our CR-X300 is now even better thanks to oversampling HD processing, which enables Full HD by effectively utilizing the outstanding capabilities of the UHD 4K CMOS sensor.
There are four types of scene modes: Portrait mode, which exhibits a blurred background while subject is in sharp focus, Sports mode, which enhances capture of moving objects, Low Light mode, which enhances capture of bright images even in dark places, and Spotlight mode, which enhances capture of beautiful images of spotlighted objects.
The CR-X300 features an Infrared Mode allowing the capture of video in conditions with little to no ambient light. This feature allows low-light capture by removing the infrared cutoff filter from the optical path. The camera's specially designed lens coating allows the infrared light to pass through to the image sensor.
With a waterproof and dustproof design featuring an IP65 enclosure rating, the CR-X300 can be installed in challenging locations and is not affected by environmental conditions.
The CR-X300 model is equipped with an enhanced servo 1/32 ND filter and wiper unit, each of which aid in the CR-X300 delivering dependable video in challenging environmental conditions. The CR-X300 is also equipped with a fan for heat dissipation, which helps to ensure the camera continues operation without issue.

The CR-X300 features a genuine Canon 20x 4K optical zoom lens that provides a highly versatile zoom range with a 35mm equivalent of 29.3 to 601mm to help capture subjects at a variety of distances. Furthermore, the CR-X300 exhibits a 65.6° angle of view when video output is set to UHD 4K and a 63.5° angle of view when video output is set to full HD. This allows operators to capture wider angles of view, which could potentially reduce the amount of cameras needed for a production, reducing overall costs of the project.
When combined with a digital 20x zoom, the camera can achieve super-telephoto shooting with a maximum 400x zoom (Optical 20x + Digital 20x).
In addition to the Standard optical IS mode, CR-X300 is also equipped with the powered IS mode that compensates for blurring during telephoto shooting.
Internal optical ND filtration up to 1/8 allows for remote exposure control. In addition, an included 1/32 external enhanced ND can be manually activated for more demanding applications.
The CR-X300 is an exceptional PTZ camera which combines smooth, fast, and highly precise movement. In Normal Mode, operational movement has a noise rating of NC45 or lower, making it extremely suitable for quiet indoor environments. Up to 100 Camera Presets are possible, allowing for incredible creative flexibility for all productions, whether large or small venues.
The CR-X300 is equipped with a pan and tilt drive mechanism supporting a range of ±180° pan, -40° to +215° tilt, allowing for outstanding movement flexibility, whether mounted in a standard manner, or inverted. The CR-X300 supports the Standard (VISCA) Protocol as a protocol to remotely control the camera via IP. When connecting a Standard (VISCA) Protocol compatible remote controller to the camera over IP or serial (RS-422) the camera can be operated remotely and shooting settings can be adjusted by utilizing the remote controller. The standard (VISCA) protocol is widely used in video production, broadcasting and many other markets. The CR-X300 supports the standard (VISCA) protocol that is regarded as an industry standard and is suitable for operation within existing workflows.
The XC Protocol is a newly developed IP that controls Canon video production equipment, including the Cinema EOS models such as the C300 Mk III and C500 Mk II, as well as a number of PTZ camera models.
