Bring early-2000s camcorder character to your next project with the Sony Handycam HC MiniDV Tapeless Camcorder Kit from Y2Kamera. Pairing a Sony DCR-HC series MiniDV camcorder with a PowerPlay portable digital video recorder, this custom setup lets you capture footage to the included 32GB microSD card without recording to MiniDV tape.

Ideal for experimental filmmaking, music videos, behind-the-scenes coverage, and everyday shooting, the kit combines a classic Handycam with the convenience of removable digital storage. The PowerPlay connects to the camera’s AV output using the included custom Sony cable, while an extension bracket and 3D-printed cold shoe mounts provide mounting options for the recorder.

The kit includes a new camcorder battery and charger, rechargeable PowerPlay battery, charging accessories, and a microSD card reader for transferring your recordings. Additional 3.5mm AV and RCA AV cables allow the PowerPlay to work with other compatible Sony camcorders and numerous models from the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s. Compatibility depends on the camera’s AV output and cable requirements.
