The NiSi ATHENA PRIME Rewind 35mm T1.9 Full-Frame Cinema Lens (ARRI PL) offers two distinctive looks in one lens for full-frame PL-mount cinema cameras. Built with NiSi’s Rewind optical character, it delivers a vintage-inspired aesthetic at wider apertures, while stopping down gradually produces a cleaner, more modern image with reduced stylization.

The versatile 35mm focal length is ideal for environmental portraits, handheld work, and narrative wide shots that balance subject context with cinematic depth. Color rendering is matched to standard ATHENA PRIME lenses, making it easy to intercut footage between the Rewind series and the original ATHENA lineup for consistent visual results across productions.

Selectable Vintage Characteristics

The vintage characteristics produced with a wide open T1.9 aperture include a warm look, amplified aberrations, softened resolution, and increased blur with highlight halos. Stop down the lens to T2.8 for a balanced look or down to T5.6 or T8 for a cleaner, more modern appearance. Barrel distortion is preserved, enhancing the organic, analogue look of a vintage lens.

Signature Bokeh

Add a distinctive look to your background by stopping down to a wide aperture to produce "bubble" bokeh with bright edges and darker centers. This effect is most noticeable with the 35 and 50mm Rewind lenses and can be controlled to fade around T4.0.

Intense Flaring

The ATHENA Rewind primes produce more intense flaring than the standard ATHENA series, adding a sense of energy and atmosphere to direct light sources, practical lights, and backlit scenes.

Consistent Color and Optical Quality

Unlike the Tuned ATHENA primes, the Rewind lenses preserve a natural look with neutral colors, letting you intercut footage with standard ATHENA primes. Each lens in the Rewind series produces minimal breathing and maintains a similar level of chromatic aberrations as the standard ATHENA primes.
