The 11" case diameter is appropriate for tripods with up to a 150mm ball.
For strength and durability, each case is made from rotationally-molded, cross-linked polyethylene.
Tuffpak material is resistant to jet fuel, solvents, moisture, dents, abrasions, shock, cold to -40°F, and heat to 140°F.
To protect gear from impact, the case comes with 2" of foam in the lid and the base. The foam in the base (which is protected from the feet of the tripod by a plastic disk) is held in place by detents molded into the base of each case. The foam in the lid is glued-in.
