The RED DIGITAL CINEMA V-RAPTOR [X] 8K VV Camera Starter Pack with 2 x MICRO-V Batteries (V-Mount) combines the strengths of RED's two families of cameras into one powerful all-purpose workhorse. The frame rates, lowlight performance, and resolution of the V-Raptor line combined with the global shutter advancements of KOMODO, the V-RAPTOR X 8K VV sensor is the culmination of the latest advancements in digital camera image making. Using RED's newest 8K VV sensor, V-RAPTOR X leverages the benefits and flexibility of large format, global shutter, high framerate, 8K acquisition, all inside of a compact and feature rich body weighing just over 4lbs.

New Large-Format Standard

This first large-format global shutter camera is built around the same key features of the original V-RAPTOR, including a locking Canon RF lens mount, two unique 12G-SDI monitoring outputs, and dual CFexpress Type B card slots that support up to 8K120 capture. The V-RAPTOR [X] 8K VV also features a redesigned sensor cavity that mitigates stray light and improves contrast, plus improved in-camera audio preamps.

RED Global Vision

With the V-RAPTOR [X] 8K VV, RED has introduced its Global Vision suite of tools that uses the global shutter sensor to offer even greater flexibility and ease of use throughout your production process. These tools include Extended Highlights for increasing detail, producing finer HDR finishes or softer, more subtle highlight roll-offs when using SDR.

Phantom Track

The Phantom Track function streamlines any virtual production workflow using GhostFrame or frame remapping, capturing distinct R3D clips for each subframe slice in addition to enabling monitoring of either slice live on set over each SDI output. This enables your director and talent to work with the aid of a greenscreen background while the VF/X team can simultaneously view the frame without having to view or lock in that background. Phantom Track can also be used when applying dedicated ad overlays during a live broadcast.

Advanced Connectivity

The V-RAPTOR [X] 8K VV uses a DSMC3 platform to offer advanced connectivity solutions like remote control, remote monitoring, in-camera Frame.io integrations, AWS (Amazon Web Services) direct upload, RED Connect for live 8K R3D video over IP or live 4K via SMPTE ST 2110, and more.

RED DIGITAL CINEMA 2TB PRO CFexpress 2.0 Type B Memory Card

Certified for RED V-RAPTOR and KOMODO-X camera systems, the 2TB PRO CFexpress 2.0 Type B Memory Card from RED offers protection from overheating, operates with a reduced power draw, and helps to ensure high bitrate capture. This card can capture all frame rates and resolutions, including Full HD and raw 4K, 6K, 8K, and 12K video. It features a capacity of 2TB and uses the PCIe 3.0 x2 bus to deliver maximum read/write speeds of 1785 MB/s.

Durable Angelbird Build

Designed and manufactured by Angelbird for RED, the PRO CFexpress 2.0 Type B series has been engineered with protection against shock, dust, water, temperature extremes, and x-rays, and has an MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) rating of 2.4 million hours. Included is lifetime data protection and an activation code for the full limited 3-year warranty. To receive the full limited warranty, the product needs to be registered on the Angelbird Personal Service Portal within 30 days after purchase. If not registered within this period, the market-specific legal guarantee period comes into force.

The CFexpress Card Reader from RED allows for the fast ingestion of the RED PRO 660GB CFexpress media card on systems that support 20 Gb/s USB 3.2 Gen 2x2. Built with a USB Type-C interface, power is received through the USB bus, meaning that no external power sources are required. The reader features a write-protect switch on the back to protect your data.

Designed in conjunction with battery-maker Core SWX, the compact REDVOLT BP is compatible with select other cameras when used with a full-size V-mount adapter.

RED DIGITAL CINEMA Compact Dual Battery Charger (V-Mount)

Charge two V-mount batteries for use with a DSMC3 cinema camera such as the V-RAPTOR 8K VV while on location with the RED Compact Dual V-Mount Battery Charger. Taking advantage of the same technology built into the larger fleet chargers, this compact charger can charge two V-mount REDVOLT MICRO-V or REDVOLT XL-V batteries at a 3A rate. Designed and manufactured in partnership with Core SWX, the charger can charge two REDVOLT MICRO-V 98Wh batteries in less than five hours. A power cable is included.

RED DIGITAL CINEMA DSMC3 RED Touch 7.0" LCD Monitor (Direct Mount)

Add a direct-mount onboard monitor to your DSMC3 camera rig with this DSMC3 RED Touch 7.0" LCD Monitor from RED DIGITAL CINEMA. The RED Touch features daylight viewing, a wide 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and touchscreen control for DSMC3 cameras, such as the V-RAPTOR 8K VV. The monitor features a high 322 ppi pixel density, 1920 x 1200 resolution, 1250:1 contrast ratio, and 1300 cd/m² brightness that combine to offer high-quality imaging.

This monitor attaches directly to your DSMC3 BRAIN using the Pogo mount, and it provides video, data, and power to the monitor from the camera. If you need to use the Pogo mount for another accessory, the monitor also features a locking USB Type-C connector that alternately allows you to pass video, data, and power to the camera. The monitor features a tilt mount that allows it to tilt 180°.

Note: This DSMC3 RED Touch 7.0" LCD monitor is not compatible with DSMC, DSMC2, RED RANGER, or KOMODO camera systems.

The EXT-to-Timecode Cable enables you to input timecode to your RED DIGITAL CINEMA KOMODO camera. This cable links to the camera via its 9-pin EXT connector and measures 3' including the connectors.

RED DIGITAL CINEMA V-RAPTOR Wing Grip

Use the V-RAPTOR Wing Grip from RED DIGITAL CINEMA to create a low-profile, handheld support option for your camera. This aluminum handle's ergonomic design features both 1/4"-20 and anti-twist 3/8"-16 threads for attaching accessories. The V-RAPTOR Wing Grip can be used on either side of your camera.

Note: For the V-RAPTOR only; this Wing Grip is not compatible with the KOMODO, DSMC, DSMC2, or RED RANGER camera systems.
