The Tilta Nucleus Nano II Wireless Lens Control System with Power Handle (Kit I) pairs the Nano II Handwheel Controller and the Power Handle as well as two Lens Control Motor Kits and mounting and power accessories to give cinematographers the utmost flexibility in configuration and control. Whether assembled into a shoulder rig for solo operation, combined with a monitor for follow focus work, or used with the optional Wireless Receiver Module to remotely control DJI RS 2 and RS 3 Pro gimbals, the Power Handle Kit brings versatility to any shoot.
Handwheel Controller with Touchscreen
View the wireless channel, Wi-Fi status, battery life, Bluetooth connectivity, and standby status on the outer portion of the controller's 1.6" touchscreen dial. Focus/iris/zoom parameters and A/B stop live on the center portion, with the option to lock the screen or toggle between auto and manual focusing modes. Two other menus can be accessed from the main screen to lock and adjust a connected camera's settings and view the current lens parameters. Additional settings available through the Handwheel Controller include pairing and accessing manual controls for the Control Motors as well as additional customizations for the Handwheel Controller.
Power Handle
The Power Handle powers the Handwheel Controller using a separately available Sony L-series battery (such as NP-F550 or NP-570) for extended battery life. The Power Handle also allows users to power accessories via the integrated USB-C and DC power outputs. It features a 1/4"-20 thread with locating points, perfect for mounting the Tilta Right-Angle Rosette Adapter in order to easily integrate the Handle into a shoulder rig setup. The top of the handle also features a cold shoe receiver, which can be used with an optional mount for an external monitor or other accessories.
Nano II Lens Control Motor
The motor drive is positioned in an offset orientation from the main gearing to prevent the motor from pushing away from the lens during use. A 0.8 MOD gear ensures compatibility with most cinema-standard lenses, while the included follow focus adapter rings expand this compatibility to DSLR and mirrorless lenses as well. The motor has two USB-C ports. Port one is I/O, which can be used to daisy chain additional motors to a single control source, and port two is input only to power the motor.
USB-C Ports and Power
The USB-C I/O port on the handwheel can be used for camera control when wired to select cameras from Sony and Canon. It also facilitates firmware updates when connected to the Nano II Lens Control Motors, optional Control Handle, or the Power Handle. Both ports support PD Fast Charging to quickly recharge the internal 1800mAh battery, which can run up to 20 hours, depending on usage, or attach it to the Power Handle using the Tilta NATO connector to integrate its Sony L-series battery.
Intuitive Pairing and Configuration
Select a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi channel to pair your Handwheel Controller with the Lens Control Motor over a wireless connection. Press the function button on the motor to finalize the connection and cycle through the available categories: iris, zoom, focus, or other. Different colored lights will indicate the assigned category: green for iris, blue for zoom, purple for focus, and yellow for other. Hold down the function button to automatically calibrate the motor. To pair motors to the Control Handle, select E-Z Mode in the Wireless submenu with the M button, double press the function button on the motor, and press the M button again.
Mounting Accessories
In addition to the power accessories, the Power Handle Kit also includes Tilta's 15mm Rod Holder to Dual 1/4"-20 Adapter for attaching rods and motors to a camera cage, a rubber rod support, two 6" 15mm aluminum rods for rigging multiple motors, and the 1/4"-20 Accessory Mounting Bracket with locating pins for mounting accessories such as an external monitor for follow focus work.
Compatibility
The Nano II Wireless Lens Control System is backward compatible with the previous generation Nucleus-Nano and Nucleus-M lens motors for easy integration with your preexisting equipment.
The current firmware fully supports all controls for the BMPCC 4K, 6K, and 6K Pro via Bluetooth only, with partial camera control, including run/stop, shutter speed, ISO, and iris adjustment for Sony FX3, A7S3, A7R5, ZV-E1, ZV-E10, and Canon R7 via USB-C PD cables. Mount and integrate the Power Handle or separately available Nano II Control Handle into your DJI RS 2 or RS 3 Pro gimbal setup with the included mounting accessories and the optional Wireless Receiver Module for wireless gimbal and DJI RS Focus Motor control.
