The CS40 40-Fader ColorSource Lighting Console from ETC is a touchscreen enabled 40 fader DMX 512 lighting control console. The forty faders can support controlling up to eighty fixtures, and each fader has its own individual programmable bump button. Built-into the unit is a touchscreen display that allows you to arrange a lighting plot with the fixtures you are using. Remote Device Management (RDM) allows the console to identify enabled fixtures and auto-populate and patch them.

The console is flexible, with four user definable master faders as well as five user definable control buttons. You can program and save a cue list with 999 cues, and the unit allows you to save lighting looks to 10 pages with 40 playbacks each. In addition, you can program repetitive light patterns and apply them to channels and call them up as needed.

The console follows DMX-512 protocol, allowing you to control up to 80 devices over 40 channels. On fixtures that support it, you can control more than just dimming, including control of DMX-supported aspects of some fixtures such as motion, color, or beam control.

The Stage Map display is one of the views on the touchscreen. It enables you to visually see and move fixtures on the units Stage Map to match the fixtures on the actual stage. Finger-tip control allows you to navigate around the map, select/deselect fixtures, and aids in rapidly programming your show.

The 40 Faders can be set to be in either channel or playbacsk mode. Two channel pages and ten playback pages are provided for creative programming. The operation of the bump button beneath each fader is dependent on the fader mode. When the faders are in channel mode, the bump buttons select/deselect the fader. When in playback mode, the bump button's behavior is based on the selected button mode.

Patching associates a console channel number with an address or block of addresses on the DMX output. Once you have patched in your fixtures, you can save your patch set up and recall it.

RDM enables fast set up by identifying any intelligent lights and automatically populates in Patch. This allows you to skip manually locating fixtures that are RDM compatible and speeds you on your way.
