The ARRI cmotion Cinefade Vari360 (4 x 5.65") is a creative, dynamic filter system that lets you vary your depth of field in one shot while maintaining a constant exposure. This upgraded Vari360 version features 360° polarizer rotation and automatic rotation compensation using the built-in, three-axis gyro sensor.
Compatibility
The Vari360 is compatible with any film or digital camera using a cine lens with a manual geared aperture ring and accurate T-stop markings. It's also compatible with all ARRI LMB matte boxes. The Vari360 takes up two filter slots in VariND mode and one filter slot in RotaPola mode. It has a 1.5 stop loss at full transmission and its OLED display features a stealth mode for use on darkened sets.
Remote Control
- Use the Vari360 with the ARRI Hi-5 lens control system for precise remote control.
- Two buttons on the Vari360 itself allow you to adjust the ND value directly in 1/3 stop increments without requiring an LCS.
- The two LBUS connectors let you daisy chain the Vari360 with compatible components with plug-and-play simplicity and can also be used for power only.
360° RotaPola
This updated version of the Cinefade system lets you rotate the polarizer up to 360°. Use it with a joystick or Hi-5 controller force pad for infinite rotation with continuous light streaks.
Three-Axis Gyro Sensor
- A built-in, three-axis gyro sensor automatically syncs the Cinefade RotaPola with your camera's rotation, maintaining the polarized effect.
- You can manually override the polarization at any time.
Cinefade Effect
Pair the Vari360 with an iris motor get remote controlled, variable ND compensation to maintain a constant exposure with varying depth of field. This is achieved using the Vari360's design that consists of a static polarizer filter paired with a motorized polarizer.
VariND Mode
- Ideal for shots that move between interior and exterior or for changes in cloud cover, the VariND mode lets you maintain your chosen depth of field even in changing light environments.
- The variable ND ranges from ND 0.4 to ND 1.9+ and can be controlled remotely or in 1/3 stop increments directly on the filter.
RotaPola Mode
Add creative, dynamic reflection control using the Vari360's RotaPola mode. This repeatable control lets you create animated reflection effects during a crane, vehicle, or aerial shot.
