With its weather-resistant exterior paint, durable aluminum body, interior fan, IP65 waterproof rating, and built-in lens wiper, it can also be used for outdoor surveillance and security.

The CR-X300 sports many features of a Canon camcorder such as a 1/2.3" dual-pixel CMOS sensor, Hybrid AF, the Canon DIG!C DV6 image processor, scene modes, IR (infrared) mode, 20x optical zoom, 20x digital zoom, built-in waterproof microphone, and video capture and output up to UHD 4K. The camera also includes NDI|HX support without requiring a separate license, allowing you to drop the camera into your existing NDI network with minimal configuration.

Where the PTZ camera diverges from the camcorders is in its remote resources such as control via IP and RS-422 serial as well as HDMI, 6G-SDI, and IP streaming outputs, and compatibility with the Canon RC-IP100 IP PTZ remote controller. It can perform smooth, precision pan, tilt, and zoom movements with a speed range of 0.3 to 60° per second.

The camera can also be powered using PoE++ (Power-over-Ethernet) using its LAN port, so it can fit right into your existing PoE+ network without requiring the use of local power to save cabling. The camera supports a wide dynamic range, minimum illumination of 3 lux, and its lens features a 35mm equivalent focal length of 30.5 to 627mm.

The camera can utilize an external controller via RS-422/VISCA or Canon's proprietary XC IP protocol on a private, secure LAN, using the optional RC-IP100 PTZ controller. Or, if you'd prefer to use Canon's camera control software, the free-to-download application can work on Windows OS, so you can control all the camera functions from a laptop or tablet. Advanced 4K UHD CMOS Image Sensor

For incredibly sharp and detailed high-definition video recording, the CR-X300 features a 1/2.3-inch, approximately effective 8.29MP UHD 4K CMOS Pro Image Sensor that captures 3840 x 2160 pixels. Thanks to the sensor's high sensitivity, the CR-X300 helps provide vivid, accurate video through an excellent signal-to-noise ratio.

DIG!C DV 6 Image Processor

Get improved picture quality for both UHD 4K video and Full HD with the oversampled HD processing, along with Canon's autofocus logic.

4K29.97 and 1080p59.94 4:2:2 10-Bit Output

6D-SDI and HDMI terminals allow for output that supports integration into professional workflows, making it particularly useful for broadcast applications. The 6G-SDI and HDMI outputs provide an uncompressed signal at 3840 x 2160 or 1920 x 1080 resolution with 4:2:2 color sampling and 10-bit color depth, perfect for demanding television broadcast applications.

Hybrid AF

The CR-X300 is equipped with "Hybrid AF". Hybrid AF is an autofocus system that combines high-precision contrast AF technology and the high-speed phase-difference AF technology to confirm auto focus from the camera. This hybrid autofocus system achieves auto focus faster and more reliably compared to contrast auto focus alone. The CR-X300 features Face Detection and Tracking functions which detects faces and automatically adjusts focus when a human is detected within the frame.

Advanced Full HD Image Quality

Full HD image quality from our CR-X300 is now even better thanks to oversampling HD processing, which enables Full HD by effectively utilizing the outstanding capabilities of the UHD 4K CMOS sensor.

Four Scene Modes for Impressive Video

There are four types of scene modes: Portrait mode, which exhibits a blurred background while subject is in sharp focus, Sports mode, which enhances capture of moving objects, Low Light mode, which enhances capture of bright images even in dark places, and Spotlight mode, which enhances capture of beautiful images of spotlighted objects.

IR Mode

The CR-X300 features an Infrared Mode allowing the capture of video in conditions with little to no ambient light. This feature allows low-light capture by removing the infrared cutoff filter from the optical path. The camera's specially designed lens coating allows the infrared light to pass through to the image sensor.

Outdoor Features

Furthermore, the CR-X300 exhibits a 65.6° angle of view when video output is set to UHD 4K and a 63.5° angle of view when video output is set to full HD. This allows operators to capture wider angles of view, which could potentially reduce the amount of cameras needed for a production, reducing overall costs of the project.

20x Digital Zoom

When combined with a digital 20x zoom, the camera can achieve super-telephoto shooting with a maximum 400x zoom (Optical 20x + Digital 20x).

Image Stabilization Options with Two Types of IS Modes

In addition to the Standard optical IS mode, CR-X300 is also equipped with the powered IS mode that compensates for blurring during telephoto shooting.

ND Filters

Internal optical ND filtration up to 1/8 allows for remote exposure control. In addition, an included 1/32 external enhanced ND can be manually activated for more demanding applications.

Smooth & Responsive Pan and Tilt Performance

3-Axis Simultaneous PTZ Movement

The CR-X300 is an exceptional PTZ camera which combines smooth, fast, and highly precise movement. In Normal Mode, operational movement has a noise rating of NC45 or lower, making it extremely suitable for quiet indoor environments. Up to 100 Camera Presets are possible, allowing for incredible creative flexibility for all productions, whether large or small venues.

+/- 180° Pan and -40° to +215° Tilt Operation

The CR-X300 is equipped with a pan and tilt drive mechanism supporting a range of ±180° pan, -40° to +215° tilt, allowing for outstanding movement flexibility, whether mounted in a standard manner, or inverted. The CR-X300 exhibits a variable pan and tilt speed of 0.3° to 60°/second, for situations ranging from the delicate movements of an outdoor worship service to high-paced sports events.
